Cosplay's younger brother by six years. Dapplewood cannot talk, often relying on his body language to communicate.  He doesn't usually warm up to energetic pets. Like his brother, Dapplewood has several backstories

The Land of Magic

"He came to depend on me, so I let him join my herd."

Caesar found Dapplewood being attacked by a pack of wolves after they took down his biological mother. The dinosaur didn't want to leave his deceased parent, prompting the larger violet stripped beast to stay. Hunger eventually drove Dapplewood to follow his mud brother to his herd and to this day follows him.

"Welcome to the family"

It is in this universe only where Dapplewood and Cosplay are the same age. Hatched around the same time the colt was born, the Hipsi (actually a Dryosaurus) was able to physically move around before his nest brother could and witnessed first hand his brother floating down the river and his parents being killed. 11 years later, the young dinosaur found his brother and a bunch of other ponies. He has since lived in mainland Equestria with Cosplay, with additional plans for attending school.

"Do you think that Dapplewood could finish High School?"

"Come to think of it, a long time ago I overheard Night Dancer talking to his Preschool Teacher and you know what she said? Not likely."

Dapplewood wasn't present in the events of the first movie, Other Voices, and Rainbow Rocks due to being in a foreign exchange program in the Brisbane Institute for the Deaf-Mute. Upon being asked why Dapplewood wasn't mentioned in those events, Cosplay felt that it was for his own protection. With the world being peaceful again, Dapplewood was introduced to Cosplay's high school friends, including Sunset Shimmer.

Dapplewood here would have a few misadventures of his own, including fighting a Furby, finding his match with Golden Caramel, and entering a dinosaur filled world. However, he would soon come to a terrible loss.


Fanfic Reboot

In the original MLP universe reboot, Dapplewood's story was the same as above, although him meeting Applejack and Sunset Shimmer occurred slightly earlier.

In Equestria Girls, Cosplay introduced Dapplewood to Golden Caramel's family while the latter was in Kindergarten and therefore didn't have to go to the exchange program. Thus he was able to attend the Fall Formal as a guest and participate, albeit last minute, in the Battle of the Bands. He is currently counted as an honorary Maximal until he enrolls at Canterlot High.
